Sam enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities and has a strong passion for health and wellness. She graduated from Capilano University Rehabilitation assistant program in 2006 and has worked alongside therapists to assist with rehabilitation goals. She has worked primarily in
acute care settings and has some experience working privately with a speech pathologist.
Sam was born and raised in Lynn Valley in North Vancouver B.C. She grew up playing ringette and competed competitively as a short track speed skater, and cross country mountain biker. Her first job as a skating instructor inspired her to want to pursue a career in sports, which led her to an interest in kinesiology and rehabilitation.
Having completed 2 years in kinesiology, she was looking for opportunities to further pursue her career. The Rehabilitation Assistant program at Capilano University had a career fare and she was immediately interested in what the program had to offer. She has been working as a Rehabilitation assistant for 18 years and worked in many different areas including acute care
and private practice.
After moving to Kelowna in 2018, she took some time off and pursued her passion in health coaching, personal training and teaching fitness classes. Working as a health coach and trainer at the YMCA, she worked with specialty hip and knee and respiratory programs. She has a strong passion for helping people achieve their goals and fell in love with working with seniors.
2020 led her back to working in healthcare and she currently works in the Physiotherapy department at KGH.
Sam continues to teach fitness and can be found teaching aquatic fitness classes at Johnson Bentley on the West side. She also teaches fitness classes at a studio called Suka fit in West Kelowna and is known for providing challenging and fun group and individual programs. In her spare time, she enjoys running and has run races with Rob, and has recently completed her first marathon.
Outside of work and training, her passion is her family. She and her husband Jameson keep busy with their two boy’s love of basketball and their daughter's love of competitive dance. Her kids inspire her to keep exploring and learning and she continues to enjoy learning more to support her clients with their rehabilitation and fitness goals.
